Born and raised in Dacula, GA, a rural community 40 miles northeast of Atlanta - music has always been an integral part of Joel's life. He has sung in church choirs from the age of three, participated in the choral programs throughout his school years, and received his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Shorter College. He composed his first song at the age of eleven - a tribute to his Grandfather who had just passed away. Most of the songs Joel sings the Lord has given him.
In following God's leadership, Joel and Stacey have been privileged to see souls won into the Kingdom. Just as important to him is seeing many Christians learn how to worship, something we seem to have forgotten to do.
In recent years, God has allowed Joel to partner with many different recording artists such as Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, and Casting Crowns. He has also lead many conferences on the subject of using a person's talent to worship God.
Joel has been a part of Worship Expo from its conception. The Lord continues to use Joel in tremendous ways as he faithfully ministers to the participants of Worship Expo.
